Happy 303 day! To celebrate, Roland have welcomed the icon of acid to their growing family of software instruments, the TB-303.
 

March 3 (303 day) seems as apt a time as any to celebrate the one-of-a-kind TB-303. It spawned entire scenes and now Roland Cloud have released the software version.

Here’s what Roland have to say about the 303 and its legacy:

“Like the Roland TR-808 and its influence on hip-hop, the TB-303 played an essential role in the development of the late ‘80s-early ‘90s rave culture. It is safe to say electronic music as we know it would not exist without this unassuming musical device. The 303 hooked producers with its ability to continually shapeshift and transform grooves in real time.”

The virtual instrument offers up the unmistakable squelches of the original machine, with new and improved workflow features. The new editing window, for example, spreads out the keyboard over six octaves, with all sequencing tools easier than ever to customise.
